As part of the McDonald’s UK website re-design to bring it into line with the US site, I was required to design the section about ‘behind the scenes’ at McDonald’s. This included articles and videos about their practices, processes and ethics around food, employment, environment and charity work. By being open and honest with their customers they hope to change any negative pre-concepts people have about the company. There is also and area where customers can find answers for specific questions they might have.

The site is based on the new structure and reflects the McDonald’s 

brand, with an individual look to emphasise the different content and functionality from the rest of the site. It has a user-generated, community feel, highlighting the ability to comment and share views on articles and videos.

 

I also produced visual language guidelines to accompany the What Makes McDonald’s website. It was used as a guide in the development process and a reference for future design additions.
